The shock absorber can be adjusted according to the rider's weight and preferences. The hardness is determined by the diameter, the number of coils and the type of material used in the spring. Turning the Sprindex changes the number of active coils: a few coils make the spring harder. 

Sprindex springs are made of steel and are lighter than standard springs because they are designed to fit almost all shock absorbers on the market.

Sprindex was founded by the founders of Crankbrothers (Carl Winefordner, Frank Hermansen, Andrew Herrick) together with Richie Schley.
