The crankset is the set of the front chainrings and cranks. They can consist of a single crown, two (which is called double) or three (called triple). The chainrings can be integrated into the right crank, as in fixed gear bikes or supermarket walking bikes, or fixed on the crank with special threaded pins. The profile of the teeth is rounded, to "cling" on the chain. When the teeth wear out, the individual crowns can be replaced in the valuable cranks (those that are not integrated).
