Bar ends

Handlebar caps and grips are attached to both ends of the MTB handlebar. The grips are used to provide a more comfortable position for the rider when riding uphill. The caps are used to close the hole left by the handlebar grips at the end of the handlebar when they are removed. The grips are mainly used in cross-country riding because they cannot be used when riding downhill or on too demanding terrain. When your hands are on the grips you do not have access to the brakes. The grips allow you to both assume a position that opens the rib cage, making it easier to breathe and pull the handlebars well to optimize pedaling performance.
