Dainese

Dainese is an Italian brand founded in Vicenza in 1972 by Lino Dainese. Dainese, in 1968, left for London on his Vespa and, together with his friends, he discovered the charm of the maximoto and the leather suits. Back in Italy he decided to devote himself to the design and production of motorcycle protections. The first product made by Dainese in 1972 was a pair of motocross pants. The brand logo recalls the speed demon, symbol of dynamism and rebellion, principle and guiding spirit for the creation of each new product.
The company began to bring many revolutions into the world of motorcycling clothing including elastic inserts for greater comfort in leather garments in 1974 and the first back protector in 1978. The production, initially reserved for track sportsmen, it soon expanded to include the consumer market.
Dainese products are inspired by the animal world because of their ergonomic and aesthetic characteristics such as knee sliders, called "porcupines", designed to safely touch the road surface with the knee or back protectors that remind the resistant but flexible back of a lobster.
Safety has always been the word that characterizes the Vicenza brand and all the technologies used are constantly improved in order to maximize performance and always allow convenience and comfort when in the saddle.
The constant attention to these aspects gave life, in 1985, to the collaboration with the Mobile Clinic of Dr. Costa, the official medical group of the motorcycling world championship and, in 1993, D-Tec was born: Dainese Technology Center, research center and development for protective technologies.
In 1994, Dainese expanded its production chain to include other sports and everyday areas with the aim of making the protections ever lighter and easier, in order to make people recognize every attraction as a fashion element, rather than an impediment. In the world of extreme sports, based on speed and sensationality, the look is also a fundamental element.
