Inner tubes

The most common problem for cyclists is the puncture of the inner tube, that is, the structure inside the tube-shaped tire which has the task of containing the pressure air. Before buying an inner tube it is good to know some details with which the rim of your bike is made:

1. Diameter of the circle: a certain inner tube corresponds to the circle of a given diameter.
2. Type of rim: the inner tube must adapt perfectly to the type of rim mounted on the bike to prevent the metal part from tearing the chamber.
3. Section: the inner tubes for bikes have the ability to expand and expand and can therefore fill tires with different sections
4. Material: the inner tubes are usually made of synthetic rubber (butyl) or latex. Those made of latex are suitable only for tubular tires that protect them from chemicals and the sun. These inner tubes are very delicate and can lose pressure much more easily.
5. Weight: the weight is determined by the thickness of the chamber and is divided into standard, light and reinforced. Standard inner tubes are usually mounted on city bikes and trekking bikes, reinforced ones are designed for those disciplines in which punctures are more likely, such as Downhill and Freeride while light ones are perfect for mounting on racing bikes.
6. Valve: it is the protruding part of the inner tube that allows you to blow air inside. The valve must be compatible with the diameter of the rim hole.
