Fat bikes are characterized by wheels with very large Tyres (section must be at least 3.7 inches) and larger rims of 44mm: in a few words the Fat wheels bikes! Fat refers to the bike wheels/tyres which has almost the same diameter of a 29er. Fat bikes are designed to give the possibility to reach places that normally a standard bike won't reach: the wide tyre section gives maximum grip and the low tyre pressure (between 0,5 and 0,1 bar) allow the bike to float on smooth surfaces, such as snow, dirt or sand.
