Learn how to ride a bike is a very important experience for a kid, an experience he will never forget; for this reason choosing the right size is absolutely fundamental. There are different steps during the kid's growth: at the beginnig it's highly recommended to make them use the small bikes without pedals in order to get confident with the 2 wheels learning how to stay in balance. Normally the 12" bike is good for a kid between 2 and 3 years with height between 80 and 100 cm; a 16" bike is suitable for a kid between 4 and 5 years and 95 and 115 cm, 20" size if the kid is between 6 and 8 years and between 115 and 130 cm, 24 around 11 years and height between 130 and 145 cm and finally when the are taller than 145 cm a 26" adult bike in small size will be ok for them. Remember that if the kid's height is between 2 sizes it is always better to choose the bigger one.
