Brompton is a brand founded in 1975 in London by ANDREW RITCHIE who was looking for an easier way to get around the city. So in the bedroom of his flat overlooking the Brompton Oratory, he invented a bicycle with an ingenious feature: it could be folded into 3 parts.
Brompton folding bikes are therefore made differently from traditional bikes. They are an efficient solution for getting around town (and beyond). They are bikes that do more than the obvious. They solve problems that cyclists don't even know they have.
Brompton is currently the largest bike manufacturer in the UK and there are over 16 million bike combinations. A configurator allows you to customise every component of the bikes and all frames are expertly brazed by a London craftsman. The bikes are handmade and around 45,000 bikes are produced each year.
