When you think about comfort on a bike, the first component you consider is the saddle, a fundamental element to ensure a comfortable posture and pedaling for many miles.
The saddle, along with the handlebars and pedals, is one of the points of contact between the bike and the rider and, depending on the position of the rider, can also be the object that bears most of the weight of the biker. For this reason it is essential to have both a strong seatpost and a comfortable saddle. 

The position of the saddle determines the forward posture in racing bikes and more upright in city bikes. The position of the saddle, finally, affects the efficiency of pedaling and the physical effort to make the movement.

It is up to the cyclist, therefore, to understand if the saddle already mounted on the bike is suitable for his body or if it is necessary to buy a new one. 

Most saddles have a tapered shape: the front part is narrower so as to allow the cyclist to move his legs freely while the rear part, wider, guarantees the right support for the pelvis and ischial bones. 

To choose the saddle that best suits your needs, it is essential to take into account the width of your pelvis and make sure you choose a model that can support it adequately.
