SHIMANO offers a wide choice between mtb disc brakes and mechanical devices. Hydraulic disc brakes are mounted in the brackets and, when activated, they exert a pressure that generates on the disc the friction force necessary to brake.

The range of Shimano disc brakes is really wide and includes:

1. Shimano XT brakes: these are the lightest brakes and, thanks to the reduced volume of the cylinder and oil tank, the handlebar stem is now smaller and less bulky and the lever position can be adjusted without the use of special tools.

2. Shimano Deore brakes: these are hydraulic disc brakes that, in addition to ensuring exceptional performance, are able to make a progressive and dosed braking perfectly so as to maintain perfect stability.
3. Shimano SLX brakes: they are light, compact design and guarantee excellent braking and resistance in any situation. They are made with the Ice Technologies system that prevents the brake from overheating and avoids the annoying noise caused by braking. These brakes work thanks to a sophisticated hydraulic system that, by pushing towards the pads, generates enough friction to brake.
