P5 is a time-trial catalyst. It is made for one thing: helping you go as fast as possible from point A to point B. We started with 30 years of aerodynamic expertise, supplemented by feedback from elite triathletes and Tour de France champions. We added countless virtual CFD simulations, sprinkled in some 3D-printed frames to verify what we were seeing on the computer, and the result is a faster, more adjustable, and astonishingly comfortable racing machine.

As built, the new P5 is about 5 watts faster than the old one. Much of this comes from the wheels; there’s not much additional optimization left within UCI design constraints. However, we created space in the fork and between the stays to accommodate a new generation of wider, faster wheels, exemplified by the Reserve 77/88. Paired with a 29mm tire, these are not only aerodynamically faster but also offer reduced rolling resistance due to the higher volume tire.

FEATURES:

• The new one-piece front end (first introduced on the S5) is easier to assemble and adjust. The stack is now adjustable up to 40mm, while the base bar height drops by 10mm to minimize frontal area. The new riser increases tilt adjustment capability, from 0 to 30 degrees, in 5-degree increments.
• The new P5 frame is about one watt faster aerodynamically than the previous model and accommodates tires up to 34mm wide. This space is ideal for the new Reserve 77/88 wheelset and Vittoria 29mm tire, saving approximately 4 watts compared to the previous Reserve/Vittoria pairing, for a total system savings of about 5 watts.
• The new P5 armrests and pads are wider, taller, and thicker than before. This makes them more comfortable and inspires greater confidence. The increased surface area here leads to better control, meaning more time in the most aerodynamic position possible.
• The new fastback rear stay design reduces vertical stiffness by approximately 22% (while maintaining the lateral stiffness required for power transfer). The TT position is demanding (to put it mildly), but the new P5 helps you arrive at T2 much fresher.
