    ALL ABOUT WATTS

In 2019, Aspero took the world by storm, announcing a "new era of gravel speed." The new Aspero stays true to those earlier, simpler days of true gravel but with some improvements: a threaded bottom bracket, cleaner cable routing, and a derailleur mount compatible with UDH for those who want to use SRAM drivetrains. And of course, it's more aerodynamic. With Aspero, aerodynamic performance isn't just about speed itself, but rather about energy savings achieved by reducing aerodynamic resistance. After a long day with a headwind, the three watts saved compared to the previous Aspero could translate to one less energy gel your stomach has to digest - try it and see!

In addition to reducing aerodynamic resistance, we have also lowered the chainstays to provide more grip at the rear and slightly reduced the stiffness of the front end to make the last hours of those really long races less painful. Among the lowered chainstays, we've also added a bit more clearance for mud, taking advantage of lessons learned from the R5-CX (and the Unbound mudfest of 2023). These are many seemingly small improvements that add up to many more. The result is a bike that looks very similar to the original Aspero, but in fact is faster, more comfortable, and more versatile.

    T47 Bottom Bracket

Aspero uses the asymmetric bottom bracket with T47 threading that we pioneered on the R5-CX. It’s a simple and user-friendly interface that allows us to offer the benefits of BBRight in a more easy-to-use form.

    UNIVERSAL DERAILLEUR HANGAR

We have used SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) as standard on the new Aspero. It’s ideal if you want to fully experience modern SRAM drivetrains and at the same time have the certainty of compatibility with future drivetrain developments.

    Customizable and Easy Front End

Aspero shares the same bearing sizes as the R5, Soloist, R5-CX, and Caledonia, meaning you can use any combination of headset and handlebar stems. Want a super-racing and fully integrated look? Go for the R5 models ST31 and HB13.
