MTB Pedals
Together with the handlebar and saddle, the pedals are the main point of contact of the body with the bike. In the world of MTB there is a sort of struggle between lovers of SPD and Flat pedals. Flat pedals are the best known technology. It is a pivot on which a flat body is mounted, without any possibility of hooking, which leaves the foot free to move and rise at will. We at Pro-M Store have available the Flat pedals of the best brands on the market: HT , with sturdy, light and colored pedals; Hope , with its Flat F20 pedal in aluminum alloy and Cro-Mo which guarantees excellent traction and grip; and Race Face with models suitable for all MTB disciplines. The SPD pedals, however, through the use of special footwear on which a cleat is mounted, can be attached to the foot, keeping it firmly anchored to the pedal. The pedal body, in fact, is made up of two forks, held in place by springs fixed on the pin itself. The task of these springs is to keep the forks in position and ensure that they remain hooked on the cleat fixed to the sole of the shoe. When we place the cleat on the pedal, the springs allow the forks to open, allowing the cleat to pass, then return to position and hook the upper part of the cleat itself. Then turning the heel outwards, the particular shape of the cleat allows you to move the forks, making it possible to release.
