SCHWALBE SHREDDA REAR GRAVITY PRO 29X2.50 EVO TLR ULTRASOFT REAR TIRE

More grip, more absorption, more safety, and more comfort
Schwalbe becomes the first bicycle industry company to use a new carcass structure—something the automotive world had already experimented with and used—but this technology makes its debut with Schwalbe’s new tires. It abandons the traditional carcass structure with 45° filament positioning. The new carcass construction features a much shallower filament angle. While the external compounds and technologies used by Schwalbe remain the same, the internal structure—what is not visible—changes completely. This technology, named Radial by Schwalbe and refined throughout the entire Downhill World Cup season, introduces new riding sensations and tire behavior. The filament arrangement ensures that the carcass material overlaps with lower tension and in a shorter manner, allowing the tire to deform more precisely and respond more flexibly and adaptively to the terrain and its obstacles. The contact area between the tread and the ground increases by 30% compared to traditional tires, and even with a 50% pressure increase, the contact area remains 15% larger with the same flexibility. This means that internal pressure can be adjusted more reliably for performance without negatively impacting handling. Shredda Gravity is a new addition to Schwalbe’s lineup that adopts the Radial construction and is available in both front and rear versions with differentiated tread patterns. Its ideal terrain is soft and muddy surfaces, especially for e-bikes. At the front, the tread features unprecedented thickness from Schwalbe, with 10 mm shoulder height and 8 mm center height. The central knobs are shaped like pyramids to resist abrasion and stabilize control, while the angled shoulder knobs deform and close during riding.
