Aerodynamics or lightness alone don’t win races: what matters is speed. To achieve this speed, it's necessary to create a seamless combination of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and shock absorption. Through complex simulations using real-world data, our Ride Science Team has verified that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike on any course: - 16.6 seconds saved over 40 km on flat terrain, 128 seconds faster on the Milan-Sanremo course, and 20 seconds faster on the climb of the Tourmalet.

• AERODYNAMICS: We use aerodynamics where it’s most needed, and in the process, we've created our fastest road bike ever—yes, even more aerodynamic than the Venge. The front end has been optimized to provide maximum advantage. The steerer tube is positioned behind the front of the head tube to offer significantly lower aerodynamic resistance. Thanks to new UCI rules, we’ve used the narrowest and most aerodynamic seatpost we’ve ever created for the SL8, ensuring that the turbulent air around the legs flows more easily toward the rear of the bike.
• LIGHTWEIGHT: To create the Tarmac SL8 and produce the most aerodynamic bike while meeting UCI minimum weight requirements, we took inspiration from what we learned with the Aethos. The team created a 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7, and lighter than any other World Tour bike*. By focusing on the lightest possible construction in the downtube, seat tube, and rear of the bike, we applied the lessons learned from the Aethos project. The frame shapes respond so efficiently to stress that we could reduce material thickness, eliminating the superfluous. *Except for that one time Kasper Asgreen raced with our 585-gram Aethos frame during a Tour stage.
• RIDE QUALITY: The Tarmac SL8’s stiffness-to-weight ratio is 33% better than the SL7’s. The Tarmac SL8 sets a new benchmark for handling: it’s precise in the most demanding situations and responds immediately and efficiently to pedal input. While the areas ensuring power transfer and steering precision are stiffer than ever, the Tarmac SL8 offers more comfort, filtering 6% more vibrations from the ground and allowing you to attack corners with a unique feeling of agility and balance in the world of race bikes. The new Tarmac SL8 retains the proven geometry of the SL7, with the same generous clearance for 32 mm tires, allowing you to use higher-volume tires when needed.
