SPECIALIZED TARMAC SL8 EXPERT DI2 BIKE

No bike is as fast as the Tarmac SL8, thanks to a combination of aerodynamics, lightness, and ride quality previously thought impossible. After eight generations and over two decades of development, it’s not just the fastest Tarmac ever; it’s the fastest racing bike in the world. Are your legs ready?

Aerodynamics or lightness alone don't win races; what matters is speed. To achieve this speed, you need to create a no-compromise combination of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and shock absorption. Through complex simulations using real data, our Ride Science Team has confirmed that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest racing bike on any course: - 16.6 seconds faster over 40 km on flat terrain, 128 seconds faster on the Milano-Sanremo course, and 20 seconds faster on the Tourmalet climb.

SPECIALIZED TARMAC SL8 EXPERT DI2 BIKE MAIN FEATURES:

    • AERODYNAMICS: We use aerodynamics where it's needed most, and in the process, we’ve created our fastest road bike ever—yes, even more aerodynamic than the Venge. The front end has been optimized to achieve maximum advantage. The fork steerer is positioned behind the front of the head tube to offer much lower aerodynamic resistance. Thanks to new UCI regulations, we’ve been able to use the narrowest and most aerodynamic seatpost we’ve ever made for the SL8, ensuring that the turbulent air around the rider's legs flows more easily toward the rear of the bike.
    • LIGHTWEIGHT: To create the Tarmac SL8 and make the most aerodynamic bike while meeting the UCI's minimum weight requirements, we drew inspiration from what we learned with the Aethos. The team produced a 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7, and lighter than any other World Tour bike*. By focusing on maximum lightness in the down tube, seat tube, and rear of the bike, we applied lessons learned from the Aethos project. The frame shapes respond so efficiently to stress that we could reduce material thickness, eliminating excess. *Except for that one time Kasper Asgreen rode our 585-gram Aethos frame during a stage of the Tour.
    • RIDE QUALITY: The stiffness-to-weight ratio of the Tarmac SL8 is 33% better than the SL7. The Tarmac SL8 sets a new benchmark for handling: it’s precise in the most challenging situations and responds immediately and efficiently to pedal input. While the areas that ensure power transfer and precision are stiffer than ever, the Tarmac SL8 is more comfortable to ride, filtering out 6% more road vibrations and allowing you to tackle corners with a sense of agility and balance that is unique in the world of racing bikes. The new Tarmac SL8 maintains the proven geometry of the SL7 model, with the same generous clearance for 32 mm tires, allowing you to use higher-volume tires when needed.
    • BEYOND GENDER DIFFERENCES: In reality, there can be more differences between two male cyclists than between a man and a woman. We design based on the individual, and our philosophy is simple: don’t create differences where there are none. Every cyclist, male or female, can benefit from the advantages of the Tarmac SL8. It’s time to move beyond.
The Tarmac SL8 Expert Di2 features the Ultegra Di2 groupset, carbon tubeless-ready C38 wheels, SL7 stem with Specialized Expert Shallow drop handlebar.
