DT SWISS DIRETTISSIMA BRAKE SET

The Trickstuff Direttissima disc brake impresses with its stability, defined pressure point, and fine modulation. The four pistons of the C42 brake caliper provide great braking power. In terms of ergonomics, the lever width offers a wide range of adjustment. The brake performs reliably even with higher system weights, such as on e-bikes, and features excellent heat management. This is due to the use of temperature-stable Bionol, which performs well even down to -15°C, stainless steel pistons, and insulating POWER+ brake pads. The clear pressure point is created by the finely tuned transmission ratio from lever to brake and promotes intuitive operation. Trickstuff optimizes modulation capability by continuously reducing friction in the system: virtually frictionless roller bearings, PU seals at contact points, high-pressure Kevlar-reinforced hoses, and a lever with 4x bearings all contribute to this.

The Direttissima has a progressive braking force characteristic, meaning the more you pull the lever, the more the brakes are applied. The feeling of having to pull harder and harder on long descents to get the same braking power is a thing of the past. Speaking of the lever: it has been designed so that no surface structure irritates the user during braking and the finger can slide closer to the lever. This way, you don't need to rotate your hand and can maintain a full grip on the handlebar. The two-piece milled clamp compensates for slight deviations in handlebar circumference. The brake set consists of parts for the front and rear wheel.

TRICKSTUFF DIRETTISSIMA BRAKE SET MAIN FEATURES:

  • Possibility to mount SRAM/SHIMANO shift levers with optional Trickstuff interfaces
  • Two-piece milled clamp for secure, gentle, and torsion-resistant handlebar clamping
  • High-pressure hoses with Kevlar sheath for a stable bite point
  • Supplied with Trickstuff 850 "Power+" brake pads (compatible with SRAM Guide/G2 pads)
  • Race-tested
  • Suitable for e-bikes
  • Intended use: MTB
  • Material: 7075 T6 aluminum (housing, lever, brake caliper); stainless steel (piston)
  • Number of pistons: 4 (per brake)
  • Brake lever: Trickstuff DRT
  • Brake caliper: Trickstuff C42 (Postmount)
  • Brake hose: Kevlar
  • Hose length: 1700 mm rear, 900 mm front (each can be shortened)
  • Brake fluid: mineral oil, BIONOL vegetable oil
  • Brake pads: Trickstuff 850 Power+ (organic, nickel-plated steel backing plate)
  • Lever width adjustment: tool-free (adjustment range 47-88 mm)
  • Adjustable free stroke: no
  • Open clamp: yes (Ø 22.2 mm)
  • Weight: approx. 250 g/brake (incl. pads, milled clamp, filled with 700 mm brake hose - WITHOUT brake disc, adapter)
  • MODULATION: Friction in the system is the enemy of good modulation. The constant use of roller bearings and special PU seals minimizes the internal friction of Direttissima, ensuring exceptionally sensitive modulation.
  • BITE POINT: It is not possible to achieve easy operation if the pressure point is rigid like wood or soft and mushy. The key lies in the ratio between the control pistons and the lever kinematics. The increased overall transmission ratio compared to the previous model results in a well-defined but pleasantly elastic pressure point.
  • ERGONOMICS: The Direttissima lever has no angles or edges. It has been shaped with specially made milling heads to ensure a brake without pressure points even after kilometers of descents. Holes, grooves, or recesses have also been omitted to accommodate the natural sliding movement of the finger.
  • STABILITY: The Direttissima is also distinguished by the much-cited stability of the CLEG. The polished stainless steel brake pistons and the heat-insulating organic pads reduce heat transfer to the brake fluid and protect the seals. With the matching Trickstuff Dächle brake disc (disc thickness 2.05 mm, available separately), it is possible to further optimize the stability of the Direttissima.
  • CHARACTERISTIC CURVE: A sophisticated lever mechanism with a knee-lever effect on the Direttissima creates a characteristic curve for the braking force. The harder you pull, the greater the transmission ratio - the braking force.
