Renthal
Renthal was founded in 1969 by Andrew Renshaw and Henry Rosenthal, two trialists with a passion for engineering and precision mechanics. From the surnames of the two founders, the syllables "Ren" and "thal" that created the Renthal brand, synonymous with the aluminium handlebars revolution in the motorcycle industry, were changed. Renthal started with the handlebars for the trial and in 1975 he started the production of motocross handlebars, in the factory in Manchester that still hosts the headquarters of the company. In the 1980s and 1990s Renthal enjoyed steady growth, culminating in his entry into the American market in the 1990s. In October 2000 the factory was destroyed by a huge fire, and was replaced by a completely new structure of almost 5,000 square metres, housing the offices, production, testing, research and development departments, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery that is constantly being renewed. In 2004 Renthal went down in history as the first aluminium handlebar brand to be chosen as original equipment supplier by a Japanese motorcycle manufacturer: today Renthal handlebars equip Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and KTM bikes. Renthal's entry into the cycling sector took place in 2010: thanks to the same passion and dedication to engineering excellence that underpins Renthal's work in motorsport, the company has also grown rapidly in mountain biking, becoming in just a few seasons one of the most successful component manufacturers in the racing world, as well as one of the most well-known and appreciated brands by riders. Renthal's history is dotted with innovations, incredibly reliable components and success in sport: a history that is constantly repeating itself. The brand is now known to use an exclusive aluminum that makes their Renthal handlebars 20% stronger than any other in the world, lightweight but with good shock resistance and vibration limitation: a fraction of a second, a few grams or a couple of millimeters ... here nothing is left to chance! Renthal engineers are always on the lookout for innovative solutions to give the best to their customers with continuous research and development tests in collaboration with the best athletes in the world. Renthal today is therefore a global brand, but the heart of production remains in Manchester, UK. On a sporting level, the nearly 200 world titles won in motorcycles are complemented by countless successes in mountain bikes with enduro handlebars: World Championship gold medals, Cup victories (including 10 absolute titles) and the Enduro World Series. This is Renthal's winning world.
