A new type of cyclist is emerging, one who loves the freedom and exploration that gravel riding offers but also wants to ride hard, push their limits, and not only explore geography but also personal boundaries. This frontier requires a new type of gravel machine, designed not just for trail riding but for racing.

For these athletes, we designed the Cervélo Áspero for pure speed, no frills, ready to smash records, KOMs, PRs, and FKTs. A bike built without limits, for riders who want to test them. It’s stiff—a classic racing bike—and performs like a road bike should off-road. We think it’s logical, and it’s what we were trying to achieve when we squeezed wider tires into our existing frames and replaced aftermarket forks to accommodate a 40 mm tire up front.

The flip-chip in the fork, which we call the "Trail Mixer," keeps the trail measurement consistent whether you choose 700c or 650b tires. This way, the bike’s handling and characteristics remain intact when switching from mid-fat to full-fat tires. There are as many ways to do gravel riding as there are gravel bikes today, but if you’re aiming for the start line, trying to stay with the front group, and contesting for victory, the Áspero is the bike for you.
