Disk brakes
Disk brakes have now become the reference standard for mountain bikes, because they are advantageous, suffer less from mud or water and allow to express a high braking force without oversizing the system. A disk brake for bicycles completely overturns the idea of †‹†‹traditional brakes, which were installed on the frame and allowed to brake creating friction between the skates. This technology consists of a rotor installed on the hub, which rotates in a slot of the caliper, fixed on the frame. Inside this caliper there are two brake pads which, by operating the lever, are brought closer to the rotor (then we will see in detail how), generating heat and friction. The color must be vented as soon as possible, while the friction allows the bicycle to stop.
