Dissident 2

For the Dissident 2, we collaborated with powerful athletes, Loïc Bruni and Finn Iles, to design a helmet that meets the highest demands of downhill mountain bike racing in terms of safety, modern style fit, and breathability. With five strategically positioned EPS foam inserts, we are able to optimize the foam at higher and lower densities depending on where it is configured inside the helmet, allowing us to maintain a lightweight and still manage energy. The use of softer foam density allows for more energy absorption in an impact, transferring less to the rider. The Dissident 2 also provides increased safety with the Mips Evolve solution, which helps redirect rotational motion away from the head. In this Evolve solution, we used fabric pocket accessories inside, reducing creaking noises. Staying cool is more than a state of mind, and it's hard to keep your cool when things heat up, especially when your head feels like it's in a sauna. That's why instead of focusing on more air intakes, we focused on better air intakes. Built from the inside out, the Dissident 2 ventilation system features an intake on the hood to channel fresh air flow inside and specially positioned air intakes that direct hot air outside, keeping your head cool and comfortable in every situation. Keeping this helmet lightweight was of great importance. In a race context, feeling light and mobile leads to quicker reactions and reduced fatigue between the tape. With the construction of the EPS foam insert, the helmet remains very light while offering great protection. Although we can't speculate on everything that was going through Finn Iles' mind during his winning run in 2022 at Mont-Sainte-Anne, we know what he wasn't thinking about...
