To achieve maximum speed and maximum power transfer, a new standard has been set both in terms of torsional stiffness and at the bottom bracket.The double-diamond layout is the most sophisticated in Specialized's history, and supports the stiffness goal by integrating the shock absorber as a structural element.
The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) shock mounts independently adjustable air springs, positive and negative, and gives the bike the coveted "snap" of hardtails, combined with a lightness that devours the terrain and provides the ability to adjust the set up to suit a specific route or personal preference.
The 75 mm of travel on the Epic World Cup performs like so much more. When pedaling in firm mode, it offers the same positive travel as a bike with 100 mm of travel set at a 25 percent sag. By optimizing air volumes and damping characteristics, the Epic WC can handle bumps like a bike with more generous travel. The dedicated MegaJounce pad provides strong end-stroke support to handle the most violent impacts.
The BRAIN is located in the fork, has Position-Sensitive technology and 15mm of sag, with no lock out or levers to operate.
The frame weighs only 1765g, making the bike light, fast and easy to handle. The bike is sold with the new Roval Control SL seatpost, which is ultralight and stiff.
