The new Epic 8 embodies the concept of speed as the sum of the ability to overcome obstacles, efficiency, and lightness. Modern XC courses demand ever-increasing performance from bikes, which is why we've further refined and improved the suspension kinematics on the Epic 8 to deliver an even more efficient pedaling experience. The shocks, equipped with custom specifications and tuning, absorb every impact, making the Epic 8 a wolf in sheep's clothing. If you're an XC racer and your goal is maximum speed, the Epic 8 is the perfect bike.

GREAT CAPABILITY: With 120mm of travel and progressive geometry, the Epic 8 is highly capable on technical trails, very fast and efficient uphill, and incredibly responsive and snappy in acceleration. Its torsional and lateral stiffness also ensures precise handling.

NO MORE JOLTS: Compared to the previous model, the Epic 8 absorbs 12% more impact forces and vibrations, so you tire less and can use your energy more efficiently to push hard on the pedals.

RIDE DYNAMICS: The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has developed a custom tune for the Epic 8’s shock, enhancing the overall riding experience. The specific tuning, combined with leverage ratios and the updated kinematics, exponentially improves the ride.

BIOMECHANICAL EFFICIENCY: By optimizing the kinematics of the Epic 8, the Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has reduced pedal-induced movement by 20%, keeping the suspension active for better impact management. This allows the rider to maintain the most efficient pedaling position. The result is the most efficient dual-suspension bike we’ve ever made.

MORE WITH LESS: We haven’t added a single gram of weight to improve the Epic 8’s features. All models now come with SWAT 4.0 and an integrated steering limiter to prevent frame damage in case of crashes.
